About Backlot Safety LLC
Founded by Michael Thomas, Backlot Safety LLC is a Los Angeles–based safety advisory company serving productions wordlwide
Michael began as an independent safety professional with a background in construction management before providing on-set safety leadership with Vigilant EHS Solutions across studio features, television, and live events. His work spans major studio productions worldwide.
On the unscripted side, his experience includes safety operations for Super Bowl LVIII - the largest live broadcast in the world - and Beast Games, the largest competition series to date.
In 2025, he was honored to support environmental response operations for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) during Phase 1 of the Los Angeles fire cleanup.
Backlot Safety LLC was founded to bring this level of operational expertise and knowledge directly to productions.
